Polystyrene
On June 10, 2011, U.S added 8 new chemicals that cause Cancer. The U.S official says there are 8 new substances which can cause Cancer. They generated a list containing the information about the Toxins suspected to cause Cancer.
There are 240 agents on the list. This list is maintained by the National Toxicology Program. The NTP divided agents in to 2 categories:
1. Those known to cause Cancer.
2. Those expected to add to the known Carcinogen.
The list contains all the scientific evidences of all these agents. The researcher John Bucher, PhD, an associate Director of the NTP, a department of the National Institutes of Health says that this is impossible to completely avoid the exposure to the Carcinogens.
The Bucher said at a Teleconference that we are exposed to Carcinogens in our life everyday such as in Drugs, in Chemicals, in Sunlight, in Tobacco Smoke, in Tanning Beds etc.
This report will allow the people to make choices what they need every day. Simply avoid using the products containing these substances if are not comfortable with the risk.
Most of the risks come from the Industrial Exposure to the workers who work in the manufacturing plants. It is not clear how much risk comes, it may come from many consumer products and these products also emit the Carcinogens.
The Bucher says, he is not worried about his exposure to these products because he is not making any changes.
